How can coaching help with parenting?
Being a parent of 3 adult children I completely understand the challenges that parenting present. It is arguably the hardest job we will ever do yet there is no training manual or set of instructions. Every child comes with their own individual characteristic and traits and challenge us in different ways. While there is plenty of information out there on the best way to raise your child applying it to one’s own situation may be challenging. Shifting our expectation from striving to be “perfect parents” to being “good enough parents” allows us to be human to acknowledge we have limitations and we all have challenges and seek support. There is no perfect parent, but we can strive for good enough”. Working to extend and build on your parenting capacities and skills with a parent coach can support you in your parenting tasks. Working in partnership to strengthen and enhance your repertoire of skills that support your child(ren) to become responsible, confident, capable, independent and resilient young people.
